We know our voters have strong feelings about what makes a good candidate. Keep in mind that the (state) Democratic Party does not have a role in announcing candidacies; it is up for the candidates and their campaigns to present themselves.

That said, we’re at the beginning of the 2012 campaign cycle and have no doubt there will be a number of people interested in winning the Democratic nomination for this (office). And of course it will be up to our Primary Election voters to decide which candidate is most in line with their priorities and the representation they want our state to have in Washington.
