Dateline had one of their best programs on in years, the other night.
The subject was how the "War on Drugs" has affected Mexico.

They personalized the program covering an innocent family's ordeal.

A teen daughter was murdered by her abusive boyfriend, and the program covered the mother's Herculean attempts at seeking justice in a corrupted nation.

At every turn, she was thwarted either by police, judges and eventually the national government, until she was tragically sacrificed to the Gods of Greed and Power.

The murderer had joined a major drug gang and was being protected in spite of the fact that he admitted to the murder and even asked at trial for the mother's forgiveness.

I would highly recommend and advise for anyone to view this program via the Internet if not when it runs again on television.

The so called "War on Drugs" is a lose/lose proposition and no matter how you view political speech whether as I do in the form of words, spoken and written or as the corporate supremacist controlled SC does in the form of money, this power will either in the former via logic and reason defeat the "War on Drugs" or in the case of the latter via greed and avarice defeat our democratic republic.

The same dynamic; that being money which has corrupted Mexico is corrupting the U.S. and our draconian, dysfunctional and insane drug laws are the driving force.

1. Legalize and tax. Murder the profit.

2. That would be preferable to murdering justice and the people.

3. It's prohibition all over again. Illegalization fosters crime at many levels.
Thanks for the heads up.

It was most tragic at the end, they caught everything on camera, after her life had already been threatened sitting in front of a government building protesting and oddly enough no police were around.

The whole episode was an exhibition of money's corrupting power and the contradicting forces at play in the insanity known as the "War Against Drugs."
