Metairie legislator files bill to ban all abortions in state (LA)
Edited on Wed Apr-20-11 04:35 PM by MountainLaurel
This is the same dildo who wanted to sterilize anyone receiving public assistance. It's not surprising that he's in the district that gave us David Vitter, Steve Scalise, and David Duke.

Rep. John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie, has filed legislation for the regular lawmaking session opening Monday that would ban all abortions in the state and subject the doctor who performs one to prosecution on charges of feticide.

LaBruzzo, describing himself as "unapologetically pro-life," said his House Bill 587 is designed to take on the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court ruling, Roe v.Wade, that made abortion legal in the United States.

LaBruzzo's draft of the bill would also subject the woman who has the abortion to the crime of feticide but he said that his intention was not to do that.

"That will be amended out before it is heard in committee," LaBruzzo said Wednesday. "That is a mis-draft; that is not acceptable to me. That would make it too difficult to pass, otherwise."

4. Did you notice?
"LaBruzzo's draft of the bill would also subject the woman who has the abortion to the crime of feticide but he said that his intention was not to do that.

"That will be amended out before it is heard in committee," LaBruzzo said Wednesday. "That is a mis-draft; that is not acceptable to me. That would make it too difficult to pass, otherwise."

Note that he doesn't want the language of this abhorrent bill changed because it would unjustly implicate women who have an abortion of feticide, he's just worried about that hurting its chance of passage...

6. I think the Supreme Court might have something to say about this one.
Really, what is WITH these people? When you think they haven't gone far enough, they go out and prove you wrong.

7. Medical doctors need to check in on this one.
He doesn't know about medically necessary abortions to expel a dead fetus, etc.

:banghead:

:wtf:

Oh right, dead grown women are OK.

9. They're pushing this to get it to the Supreme Court
who, it's believed, will overturn Roe v Wade. That's why all of these red states are pushing this outrageous legislation.

10. I think the reply should be petition filed to ban sex in Louisiana so that women will not be put in
danger of needing an abortion and going to jail.
