Any computer techs here that can help me with a problem?
4 Years ago I made 2 SWF files never had a problem with them. Needless to say 3 computers later I only have the SWF files and not the program that I made them in.

Recently I changed host providers So I Could have my website in flash. The problem is when I went to upload my SWF files it told me that they were action2 script and needed to be converted to action3 script to be compatible with my new site. I am at a total loss, is this something that is not to difficult to do, or I am just screwed.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

9. Unfortunately you will have to convert it by hand, and if you don't have the source code...
you will need a decompiler which doesn't return your source code in it's original state, which can make it difficult to work with.

so it is often better to start from scratch in this situation, especially since the code is more than 3 years old. you can look at it as an opportunity to add new features.

on the other hand, you may want to consider using native web languages for your website e.g. HTML, CSS, and javascript, since flash doesn't work well on handhelds, or not at all on IOS devices.

If you want to keep it in flash, here is a decompiler I have had luck with in the past...

10. Thank you for all that information.
The 2 files are memorials and I just don't have it in me to start all over again. It was very hard the first time I did it.

I guess what I will end up doing is I do have a limited free space with my internet service provider (Centurylink), I can put them up there and then link them to my website.
