All Clear (no hostipal for me)
Edited on Wed Apr-20-11 09:14 PM by Omaha Steve

A few DUers have known that the last couple days I have been very sick. Late last week I started to develop a rash from my neck to my feet. I started getting anti biotics and anti histamines over the weekend. It wouldn't slow down. The rash got infected from scratching. Then I had blood where I shouldn't have it. I was scheduled for the specialist first thing this morning. Three doctors in 3 days. I turned the corner today. Even though we don't know what started it, I'm now improving. I should go back to work Monday.

OS

7. Did any of them put you on Prednisone?
Just wondering, based on your severity of inflammation.

12. I think that was what they were going to try today

I have so many allergies to anti biotics etc, it is after great thought before trying something new. I used to get penicillin as a kid all the time for swimmers ear. When they went to take out my wisdom teeth 25 years ago was when all the medication trouble started. It was a stroke of luck I found out I have a thermisol alergy. It is in make up, immunization shots, etc. The same Dermatologist found that last Fall.

When I had my surgery they used Keflex for my post op treatment. Same thing they used when my allergy to penicillin started so long ago.

25. Well, OS... you might be one of those who need...
...what Dr. Andrew Weil calls, "an anti-inflammatory diet"? You never know.... it may help. It's also what grandmas told us to do, which is "lots of color" and "fruits and vegetables" on your plate. Go figure.

Here's a link to the subject from his website: http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/PAG00361/anti-inflammatory-food-pyramid.html

Stay well!

15. Don't let this go. You need to find the cause.
And I am very very glad you are recovering.

Didn't eat any watermelon, did you?

17. Great news. All my best to you.
I once had an inexplicable strange looking and painful rash covering my arms and legs so I know what its like. The dermatologist did a skin biosopy which my family doctor sneered at the biosopy as he said rashes confined to the extremities are due to stress but the biosopy gave me peace of mind.

18. Good to hear!
As for what caused it, do you really need to ask? A Cal Bear who supports the CornHuskers, that rash was your logical body rejecting CornHusker Red!

Seriously glad you feel better and hope you get the cause figured out.
