1. Not just no...hell no.
We should start with them.

I know they've had some cuts already, but not nearly enough.

4. The cuts have been mostly illusionary.
Some small cuts that are highly publicized, followed by increases that are larger than the cuts but not publicized, which results in an overall budget INCREASE for the military.

That way they can claim they are cutting the military budget even though they aren't doing any such thing. x(

It is long past time for the military budget to truly get decimated. At least 10% right off the top, just to start, and then further cuts to follow as soon as they get those first cuts worked out.

The rest of the nation needs that money far, far more than the Pentagon and defense contractors.

6. My dear ThomCat!
Thank you for informing me on this very important subject!

And how sleazy and disgusting they are to do such things.

I absolutely agree about how much more the rest of the country needs the money.

:hi:

2. If you want to see how fast the Republicans forget deficits, threaten the DoD with cuts

7. Not only does the military consume 40% of our budget...
but I've heard the military also uses between 40%-60% (depending on the source) of all fossil fuels consumed by the U.S..

The implications are obvious - we're getting from both ends regarding taxation and the cost of living.

8. I read (but forgot to save the link) that if the Pentagon were its own country
it would be ranked (among countries) the third largest consumer of fossil fuels on the planet.
