Wisconsin - Walker breaks law to hire crony!!
Edited on Thu Apr-21-11 10:11 AM by Scuba
This story just keeps getting better

http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/120331509.html

<snip>

In picking a new register of deeds for Marinette County, Gov. Scott Walker picked a Republican campaign worker with no experience with land records and vital records.

He passed over three candidates with detailed knowledge of how the office of the register of deeds works, including two deputies who have worked in the office for years.

Documents released under the state's open records law show Walker was first advised to appoint Chief Deputy Register of Deeds Becky Chasensky to the job. But that plan changed after aides to Walker learned Chasensky filed for bankruptcy in 2009, Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie said.

<end snip>

Once again, Walker's administration broke the law.

Anybody remember 11 USC 525 (Federal Bankruptcy Code)?

"a governmental unit may not deny, revoke, suspend, or refuse to renew a license, permit, charter, franchise, or other similar grant to, condition such a grant to, discriminate with respect to such a grant against, deny employment to, terminate the employment of, or discriminate with respect to employment against, a person that is or has been a debtor under this title or a bankrupt or a debtor under the Bankruptcy Act,"

His decision not to hire his first choice because she filed bankruptcy is a violation of 11 USC 525.

But this fucker -- different story.

He's trying to take ALL of us down, at some point even his fancy Koch dealers will not benefit from a society like the one he is creating.

7. Who has standing to bring the suit--just Chasensky?
It won't go anywhere as grounds for impeachment because the legislature is stacked in Walker's favor.

Of course, it does become yet another example of Walker's corruption of Wisconsin governance. I'd still like to see an indictment. The talking about breaking the law is conspiracy so there are at least two charges?

10. And not a true believer...
"Nygren wrote to Walker aide Cindy Polzin in December saying he had no problem with Chasensky (the qualified candidate)getting the job but added that he'd heard Chasensky 'has some personal issues, and she has never been involved in the party.'"

14. They've broken the law several times already....
... locking citizens out of the capital.

...voting on a bill w/o the required 24-hour notice

...campaigning while at work in the Capitol

etc...

and so many more we don't even know about.
