plus all living & housing expenses, including a ROLLS ROYCE.
Less than 15 cents of your donated dollar actually goes to the cause.

when I receive e-mails like that. It's amazing that everyone does not know about it.

8. You can look it up here.
http://www.charitynavigator.org/

The Salvation Army, being a religious organization, doesn't have to file a Form 990, so I don't know how you could verify the figures represented in this email.

9. I can't tell you about
most of them but for the United Way it works like this;
Each local United Way is autonomous and each one gives 1% of their operating budget to UW National. At a local level the ratio is more like 85 cents to programs, 15 cents to admin/overhead. I was a 'Campaign Executive' for two years with my local UW.

15. don't believe chain emails.
Edited on Thu Apr-21-11 10:43 AM by Javaman
I delete all the "chain" emails without reading them.

Most of the time, they are nothing more than bullshit agenda ridden emails built around what appears to be a grain of truth.

Deleting them is your best course of action.

Also, take into account the agenda of the person or corporate entity that sent it.

most of them thread back to freedom works.
