When identity determines what facts you accept, the group that accepts those facts is the primary group to which you owe your allegiance. Republicans who don't think Obama was born in Hawaii can no longer say they put their "country first." Their loyalty is to the extreme wing of the Republican Party. Their enemy is the United States of America.
