Do we need another war theater of operations? Obama should have gotten our troops out of Afghanistan and now do we really need to concern ourselves with Libya? I find it disturbing that people here would support this. Now airplane drones? What is wrong here? We need to get our "advisors" out of there. We also need to get out of Afghanistan.

1. I agree with you. The europeans started this with their respective colonial empires.
Let them deal with it now. Not sure about Italy, tho, but certainly France and the U.K. Mostly France.

2. We are already involved, have been for about a month.
The drones are just the latest chapter. Watch for the next chapter of our involvement, coming soon.

4. Mr. Obama said no ground troops clear back in March.
I have no problem with the US helping the UN take out that murderer Qaddafi.
It's doubtful that they'll need US ground troops anyway.
I don't see Mr. Obama ignoring UN suggestions and widening the conflict like Dubya did in Iraq.

5. If we kill civilians aren't we murdering them?
Edited on Thu Apr-21-11 05:10 PM by Arctic Dave
Or is that your collateral damage is to be expected and so we aren't really murdering "people".

What country are you willing to have the US/UN kill people in next?

7. If we allow Qaddaffi to slaughter them, aren't we being complicit in his crime?
What are you willing to ignore to continue to do nothing?

8. Ah, the crystal ball reasoning.
What other things does it say? Does it give lotto numbers too?

How many people are we willing to slaughter to further our agenda?

Funny that our country beats our own citizens for trying to hold our country accountable I wonder what it would do if we actually tried to overthrow the government. I'm sure no bloodshed would result.

9. This insurgency was started a while back by EXTERNAL opposition. The blood of civilians is on US

and our allies, including the Saudis who are killing and "disappearing" anyone in their areas of
control while the West turns a blind eye. The Libyan bloodshed is most likely a scheme to
distract from whatever the Arabian princes want to do to control their problems.

This was a greedy power grab which now has cost the lives of many unsuspecting civilians on all sides.

We have no right to kill people just because they don't go along with our agendas.

14. Obama just OK'd drones to do the killing to preserve boots.
Run by the much admired CIA well known for it's humanitarian actions and love of democracy. See Congo, Angola, Laos, Guatemala, Chile, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Vietnam, etc for examples of U.S. humanitarianism.
