At 43.6 million, the population of poor people in the US is bigger than many than that of many first World Nations. Not only poverty ignored, Republicans want to get rid of what few services are offered to them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_populationMore and more Americans are relying on social services such as WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
Republicans in Congress are poised to slash funding to all of these services, they will next use the vote on the debt limit to achieve further cuts leaving those 43 million people with nowhere to turn.
These very people will pay with their lives, often all too literally, for tax cuts for the wealthiest, while those in the middle with face giant tax hikes under the much lauded "Ryan Plan".
For those increasingly disappearing Tea Partiers who decried the "Obama deficits", the Ryan plan will not reduce the debt for at least 40 years. In the meantime, the US becomes a much meaner, poorer place. Unless you are part of that top 1%.
