Who didn't see this one coming?
Edited on Fri Apr-22-11 06:07 AM by markpkessinger
U.S. role in Libyan conflict widens

What was that the President said when this started? "This will be a matter of days, not weeks?" I had a feeling that was a bald-faced lie when he said it, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. But as far as I'm concerned at this point, it's just another example of his duplicity.

Disgusting!

And then he gets up and gets all pious about "shared sacrifice." There's sure plenty of money available to spend in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and now Libya, isn't there? I am so, so sick of this shit.

1. Were you sick of GWBush when
he led us into two wars we didn't need? Were you sick of him when he was on national television pretending to look under chairs and sofas for weapons of mass destruction? If that didn't make you sick you should not be sick of Obama who inherited all that crap. Libya is not over yet but he will do all he can to see that it comes out okay.

3. Uhmmmm....Fuck yeah! Bush should be in prison. What a tired cop out! Nobody around here was sick of
Bush. :sarcasm:

You do recall were you are posting?

6. Well then, who wasn't at the very least sick of Bush?
Why did you imply that the poster was fine with Bush's leadership on the military adventures but is now going after Obama?

8. Now you are a mind reader? I implied
no such thing. I was using DU as a site to be used to state opinions and feelings. I do that often. The whole intent was rhetorical. Do you jump on every poster here if you do not like what is said?

9. Your "rhetorical" response seems strange in context and yeah, if I disagree a poster will often be
"jumped on".

Happens all the time on discussion boards, people disagree they call you on it. Sometimes people jump in when they agree.

11. Your lack of manners is apparent. Maybe
the rudeness you display makes you feel good. Your reply speaks more about grade school than anything I have seen. Second grade?

18. Actually I found YOUR post to be far more childish.
Your assumption that an anti-war poster somehow was all for Bush's wars makes you sound like just another fan screaming "leave Obama alone!!!".

28.  Seems you are joining the club. Most
of the time I just read DU. Sometimes I post. The only ones I ever say anything bad about are Republicans. I do not try to read minds. You do not know me or anything about me. Most of you have read into my posts whatever you want to believe. I went to grade school--over 70 years ago. I also went to high school and college. I learned to be polite and respect others and their opinions. I have taught and will always learn, as I have today. When all you can do is put others down and not give respect to others, it is a sad day. I am homebound because of health and using and reading DU since 2002 has been of benefit to me. Unfortunately, there are more like you these days than before. If you do not like what I say just put me on ignore. That will solve the problem you and others seem to have with me.

7. I particularly liked the part in the speech about
how he has NO IDEA why the price of gas has gone up so drastically and he intends on forming a task force (made up of oil and refinery executives no doubt) to get to the bottom of this! Funny, here I am, in sunny California with nothing but a computer and an internet connection and even *I* understand the concept of spec buying.

How in the ham fat can a president be oblivious to why the price of a major commodity has escalated dramatically.

14. did he really say "days and not weeks"?
I am not finding it here http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2011/03/18/remarks-president-situation-libya

In fact, I see this

"In the coming weeks, we will continue to help the Libyan people with humanitarian and economic assistance so that they can fulfill their aspirations peacefully."

In any case, "no battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy."

23. The "days not weeks" remark was about the handover of leadership of the operation to NATO.
And, it happened just as he said it did.

You imagine the President said something else, then excoriate him when whatever you thought you heard doesn't happen.

Nice.
