My almost daily media rant: Cenk, they don't want to steal medicare from my children! |
|
I am 53, they want to steal it from me!! I can see retirement, and Ryan wants to give me vouchers?????
I know "for the children" is a time honored ploy to raise emotion, but really, please don't forget about the ka-billions of us just under the age of 55.

People do for there own interest first.
Many actually believe that, so they trying to leverage that.
They fail, becuase that only happens when people don't know they are doing that, becuase doing for your self interest goes against feelings of what kind of person you are, and that is against a persons self interest.
So people do for there self interest only if they do it without knowing they do it.

4. I have grown kids in their 40s and I don't want to see them left with less than I have. |
|
But basically, I believe in the fundamental economic justice of our SS and Medicare programs in this country. So while it can be personal, it is also philosophical and political. I believe in a system of economic justice and I believe that these two programs are embodiments of that philosophy...

6. I don't believe everything a person does is self interest. |
|
But that is part of some ideologies.
And you see it in comments like that. But it is not even understanding a persons self interest, since without much caring, the concept of people willing to care about other people does not equate.
If they really said that, it is an indicator of how they think, and how they think other people think.

7. 53 here, also. I've saved enough for retirement, not enough to pay for retirement plus |
|
what would be left over from the measly coupons I'll get to spend with insurance companies (that don't want to insure me so they charge an exorbitant amount to cover my medical costs).

8. Don't forget the ones 55 and older t that are all for the teabaggery |
|
because they're granfathered in. We all know at least one. When the baggers go down in flames next year, remember those idiots. I don't suppose we can shave their heads like the French did to collaborators but it's a thought.
