Odd Animal Deaths, Deformities Linked to Gulf Oil Spill?

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/04/110420-gulf-oil-spill-anniversary-animals-deaths-science-nation/

Scientists befuddled by dolphin deaths, diseased fish.

-snip-

In the past six months, the numbers of dolphin and sea turtle deaths in the Gulf of Mexico (map) have risen, and some fish that inhabit the Gulf's coral reefs have developed abnormalities. (Read more about the Gulf oil spill anniversary.)

Yet projects to document and measure the oil's effects on Gulf marine life are still in the very early stages, scientists caution. Preliminary results may not be available for months, and it may be several years before any kind of scientific consensus is reached.

"What we know is that there was an insult to the system, that there were effects on the food web and ecosystem, and that some species have not recovered to the levels they were at before." (Related: "Exxon Valdez Anniversary: 20 Years Later, Oil Remains.")

about the only thing the 'scientists' will say for sure is "What we know in the case of the Exxon Valdez is that there was an insult to the system . . . . and that it is too soon to say what they know about the Gulf of Death

the oil Barons are standing on the necks of the scientists and/or bribing them

1. They're "befuddled"? Maybe they shouldn't be scientists, then. nt

3. more than 400 dolphin calves washed up on gulf coast beaches
imagine how many more sank into the depths.

There is a woman that is doing a walk to inform people about just how dead the gulf has become in that area. I'll post her name as soon as I can find it.

She stated on NPR the other day that as mammals, the dolphins would be a precursor to what could happen to humans. I'm certain the CofC wouldn't want anyone on spring break to think thoughts about spontaneous abortions, lesions that eat through your body, carcinogens that attack the reproductive organs or any of that.
