A yawn for the Royal Wedding |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-23-11 03:21 PM by Ernesto
"......How fascinated are Americans with Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s nuptials next week? According to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, not very. Only 6 percent have been following news about the wedding very closely"..... All I can say is DUH! http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/23/world/europe/23royals.html?_r=1&smid=tw-nytimes&seid=auto

espcially given the fact I met the man 40 years and he was a leech back then. Actually, I would rather be across the pond that here.

7. I'm enjoying the coverage |
|
It's a break from constant war war war, death death death. I wish William and Kate happiness. I also look forward to seeing how Diana's son will change the monarchy.
It's always somewhat surprising that people feel the need to state how much they don't care about something.

40. I have to laugh at the irony of those who don't care making certain we know they don't care. |
|
It could be the Super Bowl, the Oscars, this, whatever--they always have to let us know that they couldn't care less. I find that very silly.

It's a happy story as they do seem to be in love. Plus I like weddings, they're a lot more fun than divorces. Hope they live happily ever after, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing the wedding dress and all the rest of the clothes people will be wearing. It's fun!

13. Boy, it sure takes royals a long time to get married. |
|
What's the hold up? I heard they were getting married months ago. I thought they had done the dead and were off creating more spoiled rotten, bigoted, uber wealthy, white people.
Does this mean all the good shows will get preempted to show a bunch of rich fat, white people spend money?
If they preempt The Event, I'm going to be really pissed.

I'm looking forward to seeing her dress. I loved Fergie's but didn't care much for Diana's.
I think Kate will be beautiful and make a wonderful princess and future queen. As long as they don't rule here then I'm all for it.

I plan to get up early and watch BBC. I've read about the dress speculation and some other stories. I think it will be a nice diversion. I watch TV too, and one time I ate at the Olive Garden. Oh, and I love to make nachos with Velvetta.

I probably will watch reruns later that morning before going out to a baby shower.
I love English History. To me, this is just a part of it.
Plus they're young and they look happy, and as cynical as I am about a lot of things, I'm always hopeful about weddings.
Lots of people will be so happy, and it'll be good to see that in the middle of so much misery. :)

although I must say, it's making feel sad about Diana again. My husband and I married right with her and that asshole Charles back in '81 and we had our two kids together. It was a different world then. Jaded, but not like today.
