Poll question: Have any other DUers been invited to the Royal Wedding?
Edited on Sat Apr-23-11 08:30 PM by Renew Deal
I have been invited and plan to leave on Monday. Anyone else going? It took me a while to get a gift. I will give them $200 cash and a Cuisinart Toaster. I'll say hi to the Queen for you. :D

2. Yes, it's my choice
The Morning Coat is so understated.

It's basically just a suit.

3. Have a great time!
Personally, I wouldn't have gone if invited. I am just not that into pomp and ceremony (and crowds, and travel headaches, etc...)

Will likely catch it on the BBC or YouTubes later though.

Safe travels and have a blast!

7. I don't own a morning coat or a lounge suit
I do own a uniform from when I was a reserve police officer in college. But I doubt it would fit.

And I have a leisure suit that I could maybe call a lounge suit.

Would that fool 'em?

23. I didn't know how to respond to your poll since I am a member of the wedding party
I will serve as Prince William's Best Woman.

You didn't think it was important to have a category for this in your poll? What were you thinking?

Please don't mention my role to Kate. I am counting on your discretion.

Sam

25. I was going to go, but the queen asked me to pet-sit her dogs - how could I say "No"?
Although to be honest, I'm not sure if she asked because she trusts me with her pups, or if she remembers the, um, incident from the last time I was at a royal wedding and is just being tactful...

singing a medley of show tunes at the reception, which I've been assured will delight them no end. :D

I hope the date is wrong. (I honestly had no idea it was supposed to be April 29, have not been following it AT ALL.)

Safe trip, stiff uppah lip and awl that rott.

Do try to remember to lift that pinky just a smidgeon, will you Alfred? Oh and *do* keep those lips together while chewing. And for all that is good and holy, don't cough, belch or pass gas during the exchange vows.

31. I was invited but I thought it would be inappropriate for me to attend
since I dumped Wills. Kate is his rebound girl, but the Queen actually liked me better so she invited me anyhow, maybe hoping we'd get back together. However, I thought my presence would cause some awkwardness so I sent my regrets, along with a nice waffle iron.

33. I hope all of those entitled dinosaurs snuff it in a fire.
Seriously..royalty? What century is this? Every bloody British royal should have to pay back every last damned farthing they own, to recompense the British people for their vampiric behavior.

34. God save the queen, the fascist regime...
God save the queen
The fascist regime
They made you a moron
Potential H-bomb

God save the queen
She ain't no human being
There is no future
In England's dreaming

Don't be told what you want
Don't be told what you need
There's no future, no future,
No future for you

God save the queen
We mean it man
We love our queen
God saves

God save the queen
'Cause tourists are money
And our figurehead
Is not what she seems

Oh God save history
God save your mad parade
Oh Lord God have mercy
All crimes are paid

When there's no future
How can there be sin
We're the flowers in the dustbin
We're the poison in your human machine
We're the future, your future

God save the queen
We mean it man
We love our queen
God saves

God save the queen
We mean it man
And there is no future
In England's dreaming

No future, no future,
No future for you
No future, no future,
No future for me

No future, no future,
No future for you
No future, no future
For you
