'Church Sucks' signs generate complaints in Folsom
FOLSOM, CA - Signs popping up around Folsom saying "Church Sucks" have triggered plenty of complaints.

People may be surprised to learn that Pastor Stu Streeter of Disciples Church is responsible for the controversial campaign.

"It's just inflammatory enough to get attention and yet we have something to say," Streeter said.

...

He said the idea for the sign came from studies showing there are about 30 million Americans who claim they're disillusioned with church.

Streeter said, "This campaign for us was a way to call out the elephant in the room and say 'hey maybe you don't go to church because you'll think you'll be an outsider or you think power will be abused.' It doesn't have to be that way."

2. Well I can't speak for everyone but
I think the main reason I stopped going to church is because I don't like being preached to about how I'm living my life wrong.

4. I hated being told I was going to hell too.
Although hell is where all the good music is going, so I can live with that.

5. all those great musicians!!! YES!!!
Original Sin is false, as well as a stupid and harmful idea.

Most of us just stumble through life doing the best we can. We don't need some damn preacher telling us how sinful we are. Especially when he knows NOTHING about us or our history.

I have too much self respect now to set foot in a Christian church. Unfortunately, my mistake was taking their fairy tale crap seriously.

6. I quit going to church and I'm better off for it.
And the reason I quit is because one day we went to Six Flags, and as we were going home for the night, they were going to have me ride in a car with people I didn't know (which would've been incredibly awkward). So I asked why this was, they told me it was because church policy dictated that they must have an equal number of guys to girls in the car at all times because they thought something was going to happen. And I'm like WTF? And they just looked at me like "You know what's up". :eyes:

Although I cant wait to see a Jimi Hendrix / John Bonham collaboration. :headbang:
