The Strike Force is "checking the work" of the people who circulated the recall petitions that were submitted to the GAB with the intent to recall three of the Democratic State Senators. It's a little bit of detective work mixed with data entry.

PLEASE go help with this effort!!! This is a very important job, it's a fun group of people and, of course, food and beverage are there for the workers. You don't need to have any experience - take your own computer if you can, but otherwise there are lots of computers there for those who didn't bring one.

Plus, you just never know who might stop by to express his appreciation! This evening, Senator Fred Risser came by to greet the people who were working on this effort. He went around the entire place, shaking hands with each person, and providing some encouraging words.

2. Thanks for posting! Here's a little more info I received from DU'er mzteris...

There are two data entry efforts underway that can be confused:

1. This weekend - Urgent need to enter signatures gathered to recall Democrats so they can be verified and/or challenged. See below.
This is a time limited action. This is at 110 King Street above Ankorra Coffee. Joe and Maryann and myself will staff the 6-9 p.m. shift tonight. Please join us or choose another shift this weekend. If you can type, you can make an important contribution.

2. About 1/3 of the volunteer data gathered at rallies and during other events has been entered. Many of the signatures were gathered by Unions. This is on-going and occurs at 211 S. Patterson Street. Shifts there have been suspended for the weekend so that people can participate in the effort above. If you have an hour here and there, all those people need to be entered so they can stay connected and involved.

It would be GREAT to get the recall "Strike Force" data entry complete before the recount begins (presumably Wed, but that may change). There's a limit of ten days for the recall signatures to be challenged, so it is vital to do this work NOW before many volunteers are redirected to the Supreme Court recount.

Then we'll be focusing on the recount for the short time that that will take.

Then back to the data entry of volunteers and contacts (#2 above). While this doesn't have the extreme urgency that the recalls and recount do, remember that Walker's bill is intended to kill the organizing ability of the unions - to remove them from the equation during campaigns - all the while strengthening the corporations and giving them a greater voice. It's kind of a good feeling to know that our efforts typing away at those computers will help to counter the Walker agenda.
