Please! No More War. No More Mission Creep
One of the things that made Barack Obama a hero to me before the election was his pledge to get us out of Iraq. Well, we're getting there.

But Afghanistan? Nothing good coming out of our increasing involvement there, as far as I can see.

And Libya? More and more involvement there. We don't even know if we like the rebels. John McCain likes our involvement. It must be bad.

Syria? Are we going to have to jump into that mess?

Yemen?

I see no end to it.

Don't people see that many of our domestic problems could be paid for with the money that is going into this imperialistic perspective? And oil? How much oil do we use in these escapades?

I still prefer our President to anyone else in the field. Can it be that he thinks that continued military conflict is what we want?

1. What can I say?
We like to blow things and people up. Hey, as long as it looks like a video game, how do you know it really isn't, right?

2. It's Discouraging
Even here at DU, nobody cares.

Two of our soldiers were just killed. Who pays attention?

But let somebody's cat get a hangnail, and all sorts of people care.

3. Welcome to my world.
To date 5,994 American service members have been killed in the sandbox.

We spend over a trillion dollars a year for the military.

Read my journal; we're on the same page.

4. War is good for the one-tenth-of-one-percent elite..
Hence it will continue.

That is all.

Looks like it's a little more than $2000 per second.

Every second of every minute of every day of every week...

over a trillion dollars so far. Count to 10. There's $20k. Rinse and repeat.

This is insane. Truly.

visualize a trillion dollars:

Scale: The little red thing on the far left is a person. And those are double stacked pallets of $100 dollar bills. A ripoff of monumental proportions.
