Is domestic oil production higher under Obama?
If so, could someone post a link or two for me? I was under the impression it was & if so I wanted to show this to a few Conservative friends of mine who think Obama is causing the high gas prices because he will not allow Oil companies to drill off shore & he has reduced domestic oil production.

They also think the outsourcing of American jobs is strictly do to regulation & taxes & has little to do with labor cost!

Thanks to anyone who can help me out with the oil question.

1. Yes, U.S. oil production has increased since the president took office:

3. I see where you are going with this, but
the biggest point is that it makes absolutely no difference if we produce more oil in the US or not. It is not the US's oil, it is the drilling company's oil, and they will still sell it on the open global market. If we doubled our oil production today, it isn't as if the price would come down for us. We are not Venezuela. The oil is not ours.

Besides this, if we doubled our oil production, there would be no place to store it. There is no shortage of oil.

4. You are 1000% correct but I am looking for...
the info on actual domestic production just to show these knuckleheads. I was listening to talk radio talk like if we only drilled offshore, as if we don't do way more of that than we should, gas prices would come down but that is a LIE! However, if Conservative drones who listen to talk radio hear their masters on the radio say something then they assume it is true.

7. Yes, in the time that U.S. production has increased, so has the price of oil.

8. Good luck to you. But don't be surprised if they will not let facts get in the way
of their worship of their talk radio "mavens". Not that you shouldn't try. There may actually be someone out their in conservativeland who will question what they are hearing if they know more about it. Just don't hold your breath.
