SOS: 13-year-old victimized by false Facebook page
Man...that is pretty low! It never ceases to amaze me how mean people can be!

1. I was bullied by my peers as a kid, but at least once I went home they couldn't
bother me anymore (unless I was dwelling on their latest actions toward me.) But I can't even imagine how much greater my hell would have been if the internet was around back then. What a nightmare!

I'm glad the mom did everything should could to clean up the mess this bully made. And I am very glad that her daughter has her support.

2. There needs to be a law against impersonating another individual.
There are laws for identity theft, but to impersonate someone to slander them (with the exception of obvious parodies of celebrities) there should some form of punishment.

5. like I said with the exception of obvious parodies
of celebrities, this would include politicians. A disclaimer could be required when you are pretending to represent someone you are not.

8. I don't know, maybe the laws for slander and libel could apply in some of these cases. nt

3. Someone in Congress needs to make Facebook more responsible.
Facebook needs to forced to set up a call center.

Facebook wants to be the center of our lives? Fine, we should be able to call them and get a human on the line. Immediately.

A call center would be a drop in the bucket for them.
