New Poll: Majority of Wisconsinites Disapprove of Walker, Approve of Obama and Kohl |
|
The bad news? Walker is still governor. The good news? It looks like he has poisoned the people of Wisconsin against the Republicans. http://uppitywis.org/blogarticle/new-poll-majority-wisconsinites-disapprove-walker-approve-obama

I love the Ron Johnson results! I was just saying that this morning - Ron Johnson doesn't seem to exist, as far as we can tell here in Wisconsin. Fine with us, except that we really need Russ back! :(

4. The teabagger who is claimed to have beaten Feinold. |
|
I refer to him as Sunspot Johnson due to his weird GW theories.

10. I am sorry to say this, but where were these people during the election? |
|
The funny thing is the republicans actually were quite honest what they wanted to do, and yet in spite of that they still won big in the midterms
Until people pull there heads out, and realize that elections have consequences I have very little hope

12. Probably had their heads down, trying to scrape by and feed their familiels... |
|
Isn't that part of the strategy? Strap the American people so much with debt/cost of living rises/mortgage meltdowns so they don't have time to think about Politics, let alone stand up against the right.

13. True. Politics were said at one time to a be a leisure pastime. For those who had it. |
|
Keeping people frightened for the essentials of life and off balance takes them out of the picture.

17. That's why they hate the middle class...we had the prosperity and time to |
|
to get involved with politics and stand up against the wealthy. Now we're just working our butts off to scratch out a decent-ish living.

19. Yes, the union-created middle class is their greatest enemy and they always knew that. |
|
My only problem with the fabled middle class was that many of them forgot they, too, were working class, just being paid better. They measured their success by staying in the 'middle,' which necessitated a world view that they had climbed above the obvious working class and were just slightly below the rich.
They'd grown to regard those they once thought to be safely 'below' them differently, denigrating unions and socialists and immigrants. Not all, of course, just a lot of them I know did it.
Now the gloves are off and the 'middle class' needs to stop running from accusations of being socialists or even the misused term of 'class warfare.' They and a number of unions declined to argue the case for all.
It was pushing for rights for the least regarded in society that gave them what they had, not the rich. So their voice may be considered by some to be a little late in coming, but they still have more power than they know, if they make use of it.

16. Republicans didn't win big in Wisconsin |
|
in the Sennate and the Governors race they won by 5%, bigger than I had thought, but still not that big.
Unfortunately, this poll doesn't really change things. The poll says that 48% disapprove of Walker, but still that 47% approve. Meaning Walker could still win re-election even after all the sturm und drang of the past few months. All of those protests didn't really shift public opinion at all.
