I hear that the House Progressive Caucus has come up with a budget.. |
|
Rumor has it that it is the most fiscally conservative budget AND the most socially progressive budget yet to surface in D.C. (Actually cuts the deficit effectively AND provides health care for more Americans via a public option in health insurance. Has there been any coverage of this plan in the "Mainstream Press?" I hope I'm not a day late and a dollar short on this observation...but, please, let me know...has there been any coverage?

1. Rachael Maddow covered it last week. |

Haven't seen any other coverage, though.

2. Who wants to talk about a fiscally responsible budget? |
|
It's so much more interesting to talk about the Ryan scheme that plunges us further into debt while promising a balanced budget some time around the 12th of Never. Because Ryan's plan is very serious and courageous! Unlike the Progressive Budget, which just uses a bunch of financial mumbo-jumbo (Higher tax rates on the wealthy? Whoever heard of such a thing?!) to achieve "balance" and generate a "surplus" that can be "used" to "pay down" the national "debt." And if we use a bunch "more" phony quotation "marks," you might actually "believe" that it can't be "trusted."

4. It is both an actual SOLUTION and does not do it's work on the backs of the poor and working class |
|
Clearly, an actual MODERATE proposal that will work so of course it is shunned by everyone from the beltway to the corporate media to Democratic leadership to "centrists" to the "pragmatic progressives" to most elected Democrats to the President.

8. Yep it's a moderate document......... |
|
SURE to be ignored by ALL the powers that be in political office. It's not "pragmatic" enough, so it's not even worth discussing.
