Give me some good questions to ask at a Town Hall Meeting
Going to Lee Terry's Town Hall Meeting this Saturday and hoped some of you might have a better question than I can think of. He's a fairly brainless Republican, just so you know.

6.  HE CHANGED HIS VOTE! He voted yes and then changed his vote to no
Edited on Mon Apr-25-11 07:33 PM by Thunderstruck
You pound him on Medicare. You break him. You make him lose his cool if you can.

HE CHANGED HIS VOTE! He voted yes and then changed his vote to no when the Dems put the Regressives against the wall!

Pound him on that. Draw attention to it. Record it if you can and post it here.

20. I'll be sure and post the highlights on DU
I was thinking about asking him how the hell we're going to balance the budget while we're cutting taxes because frankly, I don't know enough about Medicare to speak intelligently on it, but I certainly hope someone that knows what they are talking about asks and I think someone will.

encourage them to ask the tough questions too.

Remember the healthcare town halls? Give it back to them.

26. Do as you intended.
Tonight on Tweety's David Corn was trying to make the point that the repubs were also being drilled on why they are giving more tax breaks to the rich off the backs of the rest of us. Tweety said he hasn't heard that, that all he was hearing was about Medicare.

So I'm thinking there will be many there already that will bring up Medicare...you should ask why the rich get all the breaks. Also make clear that it's not the rich that create jobs, that it's the middle class...the very class they are busy taxing the hell of and destroying. Maybe even mention that the rich most of the time, don't even know how much money they have or what they pay in taxes, so how would they even miss it? While the rest of us will know every time our stomachs growl.

7. Frame the Medicare argument this way...
"Congressman, you voted to support Cong. Ryan's proposal to replace Medicare funding with vouchers to buy insurance from the private market.

1) Does that mean you support the Government preventing Insurance companies from denying coverage to Seniors because of previous conditions (if he answers yes, he supports a key provision of HCR)?

2) If the policy seniors can afford with a voucher is inadequate to meet their health needs, will you commit to have the Government pay the difference, or should seniors have to spend all their remaining assets?

8. now that the bail out" aka loans for GM and Chrysler ...
..... has worked and that President Obama's stimulus program saved the country from another great depression as per John
McCain's top economic adviser, mark zandi, are you still going to put the republican party's future over the well being of the
American people?

13. Do you really expect people who are close to 55 to be able to
prepare for life in retirement without Medicare? What assurances do you have that the cost to these people for health care will not be beyond their ability to pay? What do you intend to do with the millions of seniors who will have no health insurance in their retirement if anything happens to them---will they just have to die?

Why do you hate America? And it's people?

25. Rep. Terry - Did you vote to repeal the Health Care Reform Act?
Are you proud of that vote Rep. Terry? Because with that vote, you voted to remove the safeguards for people with pre-existing conditions and you voted to reinstate the donut hole for seniors. So with that vote in mind, you need to explain to me how the Ryan plan's "Premium Support" would be helpful to those folks.

That is all. I'd love to hear his answer.
