Ok I need help...I cant get Rachel on the net anymore
I just get the color fan with a few links to her blog and other stuff. I used to get the color fan then in a few seconds the color circle would begin for a few more seconds and then the screen with a commercial that usually hangs up my computer...but then after the dastardly commercial the screen would appear with Rachel doing her segments with a sidebar for a choice of the segments....now I just get a frozen screen with the color fan covering the entire screen. Am I the only one having this problem. I need help

3. Clear your browser cache.
Google for instructions for the browser you are using.

7. Also, clear the history in the browser you are using.
I use Safari and sometimes I have problems clicking on a link, so I clear the cache and then the history.

11. Thanx....tried that at the beginning....and still got the the opening screen which
Edited on Tue Apr-26-11 01:37 PM by ooglymoogly
does not progress further. The advertisement banner at the bottom of the page is blank as I blocked it and I am thinking perhaps that is it....No advert banner no Rachel. So I guess that will be my next move.... try to restore the banner. I know msnbc and others have been in a dither about adblock and have finally found a way to overcome that block of the beginning commercial that leads each of the segments. I have never minded the commercials other than they always hang up the computer...which I think due to memory leak flaws in the commercial even with 6 gigs of memory stick. Some of the commercials fly right through so it is not the flash player.

5. I had a problem watching WSJ videos
turned out I changed a Flash setting,
I set global storage to "none, don't ask"
and for some reason the flash video player needed storage.
Changing that setting made it work.
Right-click on the video and choose "settings"
or click here: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html
to get the settings menus.

9. Thanx for the link and info....didn't work for this situation.
I have been getting Lawrence ok but still a dead screen for Rachel except for links to blog. Can't get Ed either...but get the active screen with other videos on it. Am beginning to wonder if it is just a new policy from msnbc trying to concentrate attention on Lawrence.

14. turn off your firewall and try it
If it works with firewall off then your latest update is probably blocking that channel, site. or port...usually if it is blocking streaming or scripts it will stop it everywhere unless it was produced by conservatives :P then it is only excluding liberal sites...I would put nothing past them...look at what AOL has been doing to Bradblog.com

Easy fix is add http://www.msnbc.msn.com to your firewall permit list...

Hard fix is to find what is specifically being blocked and allowing that specific action.
