A lesson in Lawrence's response to Limbaugh last night.
These assholes lie. They cannot go unchallenged. They have to be called on their lies. Preferably, in public. Because when they are not called, they get very bold. Just like Ryan and his plan to do away with Medicare. Almost every Repub in the House voted for it. Now look at them running like scared rabbits.

Democrats have failed, to be honest, in calling out these liars. They have let them get away with murder, literally. Lawrence was very effective at calling out Limbaugh on his lies, even though they were so obvious. But if not called on them, they tend to repeat them until they become the reality.

The media is one of the worst at letting them lie and get away with it. It's hard to watch the weekend news shows anymore because they lie so often that there is not time to call them on all of them. if there is one thing they are very good at, it is lying.

4. One thing we must understand...
..is that we can get polls to say anything we want them to say.

7. Most polls show exactly what the buyers intend for them to show.

13. There wouldn't be a polling business if they didn't. AND they CAN be engineered
to produce at least approximately the kind of results the buyers want and STILL have the superficial appearance of scientific validity. The fact that there is a UNIVERSE of information out there on any population:sample you want to ask a question about leaves serious questions about how populations are defined. Even if you ask and get an answer, the answer might not mean what you assume it means. There's also the statistical issue of significance, which can be assessed with various tools, hopefully the tools that are appropriate to the definition of the population and to the selection of the sample.

14. And I'd bet if you got to digging into these issues, you'll run into answers that contain phrases
like "That's proprietary information."

5. The lie: A person who, unlike Franklin Graham, did actually give it all to the Truth
would draw a sacred line at greed.

6. Absolutely true - even here on DU many want to give Psycho Sarah a pass...
...when it comes to lies about her child. We make a big mistake in being too tolerant and too compassionate toward those who seek to harm the country.

8. What I fear is it doesn't matter what a pundit says, it has to be
the opposition party growing a set of balls and calling these lies, lies.
IN PLAIN FUCKING ENGLISH. On the floor of the House, on the floor of the Senate on every talk show they appear on.

Plain English, no equivocation:
"The Republican Party does NOT CARE about Americans, Period." If you make less than a million a year, you don't exist to the GOP. You don't count, you have NO rights to fair pay, a safe workplace, no right to unionize. The GOP, in it's obscene attachment to corporate America, does not care if we all died tomorrow. We do not count to them. Period., does that not tell you what side they are on? They APOLOGIZED to BP after BP killed 11 workers in the gulf.

Not one elected Democrat stood up and called them out on it.
The republican platform has allegedly been Jobs, Jobs, jobs and what have they done aside from cheating on their spouses? Attack women's and Gay rights with a vengeance. And our elected democrats cower in their offices hoping someone with balls will stand up to the GOP attack machine.

As long as the Democrats continue letting the schoolyard bullies humiliate them in front of the world, they will continue to lose on the critical social and economic issues facing this nation.

Call the liar a liar to his face. Show the shady math to be shady math in broad daylight. Call the coward out who talks tough but never bothered to serve in the military themselves. ask why they want to let the poor starve yet give even more billions of dollars to companies and filthy rich people. Make class warfare the issue. it is us against them.

11. 1++++++++++++ And cowardly Democrats enable. How many do you guess
let it all go because they actually DON'T KNOW HOW to take this stuff apart - compared to - How many let it all go because they WON'T take the lies apart?

I know it's a stupid question; I just pose it to make us think about what's going on in more of its facets.

12. It's an important question. We assume our leaders "don't get it." I think many do. They don't care.

10. Media posers let RW lies fly and rarely question them. Except MSNBC
MSNBC is our only hope it seems. That's why I try to call MSNBC out when it sinks into MSM pap and distraction.

So, why do so many at DU defend the bogus stories, distractions, and 'look the other way' interviews? It just floors me.

16. That was the most awesome Biblical smackdown I have ever seen.
"As you did it unto the least of them, so also you did it unto Me."

That line is in what he read twice. Only he wasn't reading the King James.

GO LARRY!
