Tornadoes today: 'Rare, dire wording from forecasters'
http://www.weather.com
The Storm Prediction Center issues a "greatest threat" level for tornadoes.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/weather-news/news/articles/torcon-daily-forecast_2011-03-24
All ingredients are coming together for a dangerous tornado situation in northeast TX, south AR as a surface low forms in TX, wind shear is favorable, instability is very large, and an upper level jet stream is blasting into the area.

http://www.davidmixner.com/2011/04/massive-tornado-outbreak-today-highest-warning-levels-possible.html
After yesterday's deadly and destructive tornado outbreak, forecasters have issued the highest warnings possible for today. For the first time in years, the Weather Channel has included a 'white level' on their chart. Severe storm expert Dr. Greg Forbes has issued his first ever "9" Tor-con rating. The high level warning includes East Texas, Arkansas, Western Tennessee and Northeast Mississippi. That means there is a 90% chance that a tornado will pass within 50 miles of you in the impacted areas!

2. God needs to send some of them tornados after Pat...
I love the image of Pat running from a tornado as blood diamonds fall out of his pocket, possibly causing him to slip in the sheer pool of greed and getting sucked up Heaven's Chimney.

Terra Delu, Pat!

3. No, they're being "tested"
If Japan or San Francisco gets hit with an earthquake, we're being punished. When floods or tornadoes strike the "Heartland", they're being "tested".

8. Just send a posiive vibe to Henderson County... where my partner lives.
At least that the tornado misses one particular liberal Democrat's home...namely my partner.
I think it will run south of Ellis County, but NOAA lists Henderson County as a high-risk zone.

7. I'm in West Central Arkansas. Depending on where you draw the line,
I could be in a #6 or #9 area. I guess I'll check the batteries on the radio and flashlight, put some pillows in the closet and hang on tight. Right now it seems to be a toss up as to whether we'll get blown away or wash away with all the rain we've been having.

when something goes down. This is one of the worst springs I can remember. Generally, I don't get nervous with thunderstorms but this year I am. Both sisters and mom have been through the worst of it.

10. How long will it be before a F5 mile wide 250 mph tornado hits
a nuclear power plant. Of course the nuclear pundits will say... "Who could have predicted this!"

Any person that believes that our nuclear plants would withstand such a hit are woefully ignorant.

45. It's only a matter of time.....
We need to start decommissioning all nuclear plants.

That is my point of view and I hope others start understanding what we are dealing with. In my lifetime, there have been 4 nuclear disasters. We don't need anymore.

Peace,

YM

41. Any of them..... the closest to the U.P. of Michigan is I think Minnesota...
But I think any of the plants in our country are a concern.

For me.... it's just not worth the risk as we are now seeing first hand again... what a nuclear miscalculation can do.

I didn't even mention a Electromagnetic Pulse... which is a real but rare event from our sun that could shut down all electricity nation wide.

and of course the real possibility of a man made EMP bomb from an attack from an enemy of the U.S.

However,

I do feel that the tornado possibility is the most likely.

Peace.

30. Totally uncalled for.
Exactly as the post you snarked at said, "who could have ever seen THIS coming?"

If the best they've got are steel buildings over the cooling/storage pools (at at Fukushima), there will be nuclear material strewn about a huge area - uranium and plutonium, not just "harmless" strontium, cesium and iodine.

But thanks for playing.

42. I am not sure of your intended meaning...
However.... I am sure as more nuclear disasters continue to plague humankind, you will wake up.

Don't say you weren't warned. The following video is only 10 minutes long...but carries with it a powerful message for mankind. I hope you can be aware enough to understand what she is saying.

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0aa_1303545614

Helen Caldicott
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Caldicott attended the Fintona Girls' School, and received her medica More..l degree in 1961 from the University of Adelaide Medical School. In 1977 she joined the staff of the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Boston, and taught pediatrics at the Harvard Medical School from 1977 to 1978.

In 1980, following the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, she left her medical career in order to concentrate on calling the world's attention to what she refers to as the "insanity" of the nuclear arms race and the growing reliance on nuclear power

there is also a moderate risk zone that extends to an even larger area. From what they just said on CNN, most of the eastern US will have some kind of severe weather today.
