Breitbart's latest. Help me out here.
He claims he is exposing a college course where students are taught how to engage in violent union tactics. But all I see in this video is a discussion of violence and its role in labor history. I guess Breitbart's readers are so stupid they believe discussing violence is the same as encouraging it??

I'd appreciate DUers watching this video and offering their opinion. Thanks.

Union Official, Professor Teach How-to College Course in Violent Union Tactics

If you are wondering why some folks are starting to question whether a college education is worth the cost, the video below goes a long way towards explaining it. Recently, the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) sponsored two college courses: Introduction to Labor Studies and Labor Politics and Society, to be taught simultaneously through a video conference between to two campuses.

The Professors are Judy Ancel, Director of Labor Studies at UMKC and Don Giljum, business manager for the International Union of Operating Engineers at Ameren UE in St. Louis. (Bonus: he is a member of the Communist Party.)

In the class, the Professors not only advocate the occasional need for violence and industrial sabotage, they outline specific tactics that can be used. As one of our colleagues pointed out, its the matter-of-factness of it all that is so disturbing.

And yes, the schools, and the professors’ salaries, are funded by taxpayers.

2. The edits are so numerous, it's impossible to tell who is saying what
and in what context.

It is nice, though, to see Breitbart taking a rest from attacking black people to attack us Communists that want to steal his lunch money. I was feeling damn neglected.

4. I think the 'inflammatory' comments by the professors are at the beginning
And I don't hear either of them encouraging violence.

8. And that's where most of the edits are.
It's Breitbart. :)

5. Breitbart is a blivet.
The best thing to do is laugh at him. Point and laugh. People like him don't stand up well under ridicule.

6. It's obviously strategically edited

I don't know if the very beginning titles come from the course or from the people who made the video. They certainly set the stage for what Breitbart is trying to convey. I don't know that the Instructors advocate violence per se. It looks like Mr Giljum made some unguarded remarks about wishing people harm. The same shit you hear teabaggers say. The one student makes a comment against capitalism. It sounded like he was reading off some quotation. OK. So what. For all I know he works for the Koch Bros. It's a class. People are laughing too.

Violence has been used by Unions and by companies. It's 6 minutes out of a class how long? Ms. Ancel writes ed-ops too. She doesn't seem to be foaming at the mouth there.
I was in a Union for 25 years. I never bashed-in anybody's head. I was never on strike. I was on a picket line one time. For 8 hours. That's it.

7. I guess he doesn't like Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson Quotes

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Think he was saying you need violence once in awhile?

I firmly believe the teabaggers and republics would have been against the Patriots during the revolution.
