I mean, who does this shit?

Man who fired at sheriff's helicopter gets 12.5 years in federal prison

An Orlando man who fired at an Orange County Sheriff's Office helicopter was sentenced to 12 1/2 years in federal prison Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Jason Dennis McGuire, 27, was convicted on charges of attempted destruction of an aircraft, possessing a firearm after being convicted of a felony, and for using a firearm during a violent crime.

The shooting occurred March 21, 2010, outside McGuire's home on Pacific Heights Circle.

During trial, McGuire said he intended to commit suicide with the handgun and denied shooting at the helicopter. Instead, McGuire claimed, he fired rounds into the air and into a palm tree.

1. I'm just making a completely random guess here but
I'm going to say that guy didn't graduate high school. That being said if you have shown you don't have the responsibility to graduate from high school, I personally don't think you should be allowed to own a gun because you don't have the responsibility to be a good gun owner.

2. I'm still trying to absorb his excuse.
He was trying to commit suicide, missed, but hit the helicopter.

Frankly, prison is probably the safest place for him right now.
