Missouri passes law to go into effect |

for welfare recipients to be drug tested. Alcoholics no problem. I swear I feel that we are in the beginnings of a new Dark Age.

3. Drug tests are pretty cheap. $10 ea. and that's without barganing on a volume discount. |
|
Am I wrong in thinking that if you are really poor and need state support, you really can't afford drugs either? I admit I've never used any drugs so I don't know the cost, but I can't believe they're a buck or less. More than that means you could better spend your money.

6. By that logic, then why not also test for alcohol, soft drinks, junk food in general, |

or hey, here's an idea whose time has apparently come: let's just have the poor surveilled constantly just in case they rent a DVD, pay for cable TV, or have any enjoyment whatsoever.
I wonder how many of those poor people on assistance will test positive for drug use, only to have their benefits taken away and told that they're on their own when it comes to treatment?
ETA: Too, I wonder why we don't see proposals to drug test the biggest abusers of public aid: big business CEOs and various Wall Street fat cats.

7. I believe they are a lot more expensive that you think |
|
More like $50 - $75
And no, unless we are also going to insist on testing SS recipients and everyone else getting assistance, it's definitely a war on the poor.

10. Yes, facism is cheap! |
|
Yes, you are WRONG in your thinking! This is a war on the poor and pot smokers.
Missouri grows some pretty fine weed FOR FREE FROM THE DIRT! Can your drug test tell the difference between weed that I grew for free versus the Mexican Drug War weed that costs $150 an ounce?
This is a fucked up idea and a stupid policy based on hate, fear and ignorance. I do not see how or why ANY real Democrat would support it.

Just like in Florida, I'm sure that there will be a Republican profiting from the costs.
I've observed that Missouri and Florida both have a lot in common (having had the pleasure in living in both states). I do think that Florida loves Jesus a little more. He has like a zillion radio stations down here!
I am so doomed. Great job, but I have to live HERE in order to do it.
