I'm currently arguing with a bunch of righties on a mainstream site. These guys are your standard rank-n-file naive "think they are smart" but are hopelessly ignorant republican voters. They have all jumped on the birther bandwagon.

I'm really surprised because I really thought the issue was dying its rightful death. Now the rank and file and the hair piece in suit seem to have kept it alive and kicking. These people are practically drooling with birther nonsense.

So after some thought, it occurs to me that this should be applauded. This can only help Obama's 2012 cause. These people look like down right lunatics.

to keep it at the level where it is a personal, me against you, argument, and you are sure to be able to placate them.

By no means let it get to the salient points about what is really going on and who is doing this to us.

The whole point is to keep the people in a cocoon of me and my views versus yours. Gosh forbid it should break out into some form of realism where the people are focusing on the people who are actually orchestrating this mess and create the divisive, (and powerful) talking points that keep us in a state of useless and rather docile distraction.
