"the birth certificate is missing", http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/25/trump-claims-obama-birth-certificate-missing/

how does that reconcile with the fact that it was released today?

1. trump is a lunatic
of course it doesn't reconcile. And now he will claim credit for prompting this, and forget (or deny) that he claimed that his "investigators" found all these troubling things about how it didn't exist, etc.

2. The point is either people are sucked into discussing non issues.
So that they can be stolen from, and the media wont cover real news.

The fact that I am due beer and travel money.

Do you see that discussing the issue is the point of bringing up the issue.

Republicans do that every day with issues around gay rights and stuff, to keep the conversation on that topic. They want to define what the left fights for.

So they put some absurd bill into legislation to get news coverage by its absurdity, but there is no bad publicity rules, keeps that topic in the mind. If someone makes a racist or bigoted comment, then even if people don't agree, they think that is what elections are about, and don't go after the real problems of consolidations, and that I am due beer and travel money.

So repeated legislation on gays or abortion, in any form, keeps many people thinking that is all the left is about. Like repeated comments on birther gets people to think that is what the right is about.

Side note, that is not a comment on either of those issues, but a comment on how those issues are used to define a side like liberals or conservatives. Same thing with many other issues that are social issues, so people will not think on the economic issues, that are theft and ruin for the country.

There are many people that also discuss the issues, and don't get sidetracked.
