In a development that will surprise no one, it turns out that President Barack Obama's decision to release his long-form birth certificate hasn't quieted members of the "birther" movement who promote the conspiracy theory that he wasn't born in the United States.

"Look, I applaud this release. I think it's a step in the right direction," so-called "birther queen" Orly Taitz told me in one of her many media interviews this morning. "I credit Donald Trump in pushing this issue."

But she still has her suspicions. Specifically, Taitz thinks that the birth certificate should peg Obama's race as "Negro" and not "African."

Taitz says she's not giving up her fight. She also claims Obama isn't a "natural born citizen" because she uses a standard that requires both parents to be American citizens -- a misreading of the Constitution which if enforced would have rendered several other American Presidents ineligible.

51. In my area the word negro had been replaced by black and yes the

first word was still heard but as something derogatory. Most of us would call anyone out anyone using it. I suppose there was a big difference between areas. If your area was dominated by racists then it is probably still common. Mine was not. But having said that - I grew up in NE Iowa where King is their representative. Things have not changed for the better in that area. One of the sad things in my life.

A year or more ago I read allegations that Orly had never been naturalized. The bio I read of her said she was "introduced" to Mr. Taitz while he was visiting Israel and that he arranged for her to come to the US to marry him. Even though they had dated only a couple of times while he was on vacation, she jumped at the chance to be able to become an American. Mr. Taitz was a native born Israeli if I remember correctly.

Anyway, the person making allegations about Orly said they had tried to find her naturalization papers and those of Mr. Taitz and that they could not find them in the appropriate court files.
