DU gets advice from my sister

My sister sent me this email today, with the note that this would "be a good action for DU folks". She's not a member, but is a busy activist who provides support for many progressive causes here in Wisconsin and elsewhere.

"Write your Republican congresspersons and tell them that when they've gone after the corporations which pay no income taxes, started taxing investment income at the same rate as earned income, eliminated subsidies and exemptions to oil/natural gas/agri-business, etc. making huge profits, and eliminated tax loopholes for the rich, THEN you'll listen to them talk about cutting/privatizing programs for the common people."



I thought her advice worthy of passing along, and I'm going to send a version to my Congress-critters of both parties.

1. I liked your sister's suggestion so much, I just sent my rep an e-mail using her points.

As far as I know, he hasn't held any townhall meetings to get feedback from his constituency & I pointed that out to him. I ended the e-mail with, "What an upside-down world we're living in -- I refer to it as the "Twilight Zone".

He never responds, but I hope it's read.
