(I didn't!). It was easy for me to buy the gold. Now that it is around $1500 an ounce will I be able to get my $150,000 as easily? If not, why not?

1. Depends - there are differences between say a gold coinand an ETF.
The differences can be considerable - one is subject to taxes the other is not.

5. Paper gold.
You hold gold stocks in paper - not bars, coin, or jewelry.

8. Both are taxed
Proceeds from the sale of physical gold are taxed as income (if reported), ETFs proceeds are taxed as capital gain.

10. It can be much easier to conceal physical sales
When the new 1099 rules get relaxed, it will be even easier.

2. No problem if you sell it to the right place.
Last week I sold 6 ozs at $10 over spot. Yes, I will pay tax on the difference between $640/oz, I paid, and $1507/oz I sold for. For me, about 15% in my bracket. I have no problem with that. Using it for part of a payment on a brand new 2012 Focus.

7. Going to get a Ford Focus. I finally got to see and drive one
Monday. It sure is an improvement over my 1999 Mercury Tracer. The one they had was a basic SE model, I want either the SEL or the Titanium model in a hatchback. I also tried out the Chevy Cruze and was really impressed with the ride and handling. I still prefer the Focus I think it has much better styling and power.
I bought a 2010 1oz American Eagle gold proof back in October for $1585, it already lists for $2000 in the 2012 U.S. Coin Digest. I have some silver bullion I bought for $8.95 back in 2001, silver broke $48 today. I wish I had a lot more.

12. Most gold and silver dealer are crooks.
I only sell and sometimes buy from http://bullion.nwtmint.com They have been very good to me and pay OVER spot price. Even after paying shipping and insurance I come out way ahead of coin and pawn shops.
