Stunningly poignant editorial on Rachel by editor of The Grio. |
|
This is what I have been thinking. The US has a long and horible history of demanding tht black people show their papers. People died to stop that. It's as much a war as the ones on foreign soil. It's a horror show. It's shameful. I can't believe it. I want to weep for the lost dream.

I so hate the people who are still checking black men for papers.
I really really do.

it should be in white America's collective gut. Papers, please? I always thought of it as being not about anyone in America, but totalitarian nations in other parts of the world. It seems that African Americans have been dealing with the same shit since they got their freedom after the Civil War. Thank you Rachel and I hope that you live long and prosper as a voice for justice even at M$NBComcast.
