Historic tornado outbreak today
There are 130 reports of Tornadoes for the day. The record is 148 from back in 1974.

The death toll in Alabama is at least 53. There are 11 killed in Mississippi. Unknown amount of people have been killed in Georgia. Catoosa Georgia has requested a mass casualty trailer and there are reports that a 3 story hotel has collapsed there causing fatalities.

My heart goes out to the folks in south today.

9. Yeah. Tornadoes are incredibly
destructive.

Some years back, after an outbreak of tornadoes in the Kansas City area where I lived, I was chatting with a man who was telling me the story of how his mother got out of her house and went somewhere else, and while her house wasn't totally destroyed by the tornado, everything inside was rendered useless and unusable because of all the glass shards from the broken windows.

8. I remember April 3, 1974 like it was yesterday. I lived in Xenia, Ohio.

I still remember the eerie clouds with undersides like dirty green cottonballs, and the fear that my workplace would be hit (I was just 17, and manning the counter at a dry cleaning establishment by myself after school).

And later, semis upside down atop the furniture store......

12. Just heard on the Catoosa Georgia police scanner that they have five fatalities so far
Not sure if that just for one dispatch or the entire area.
