Lodi man purchases popular transient property

LODI, CA - Bernie Vigil had been watching transients spoil land near his home for years, but a recent incident pushed him over the edge.

"I see a guy doing his daily duty, and it wasn't brushing his teeth," Vigil said. "I yelled out my window, and he flipped me off."

He lives along the Mokelumne River in north Lodi, along Highway 99. He was finally so angry at transients trespassing onto that property without penalty, Vigil bought the 11 acres himself, then made a visit to the campers.

"I let them know they had a week to clear out," Vigil said. "I'm not heartless. So, I came back in a week with neighbors and tore the tents out."

1. I would have thought a port-a-potty would have been cheaper.

Or maybe contacting a rescue mission or shelter and using that money he spent on land to set up a mission near-by.

I'm guessing Bernie isn't a Christian, because if he was he would have done like Jesus said to do:

"Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me."
