Shotgun Blast Wounds Man Filming Scene From 'Spiderman'
Shotgun Blast Wounds Man Filming Scene From 'Spiderman'

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A group of men were filming an amateur movie in the basement of a Clintonville home on Sunday evening when a gun being used as a prop fired, striking one of them in the leg, police said.

The shooting happened at about 7:40 p.m. at a house in the 400 block of East Torrence Road.

According to police, Sam Vestey and two friends were using a shotgun while filming a scene from one of the "Spiderman" movies. One of them was holding the gun when it fired, wounding Vestey, 23.

Investigators said the men did not know that the gun was loaded.

1. What's not to know
a gun is always loaded & don't aim a gun at what you don't intend to shoot.

Stupid is as stupid does!

3. Not to mention thatit's standard practice
to visually inspect any weapon you pick up to see if it's loaded.

every time and every person that handles it.

5. Stupidity even happens in professional
productions. Just ask the family of Brandon Lee or Vic Morrow.

8. Is there an easier weapon to check for load than a shotgun?
Open, look, close. No possibility of hidden bullets in chambers or one in the magazine or any other excuse. I would imagine even people who have never touched a gun of any type could figure out how to check for shotgun shells.

Morons.

13.  If they were filming a movie...................
Why was there live ammo in the shotgun?

Why was the breech closed and unflagged?

Why was it pointed were, if it discharged, people could be injured.

Why was the weapon on set if it was not being used?

Why did the prop man allow a loaded weapon on site?

So many questions, so few answers, so much stupid.
