It's all passive-aggressive "framing"... It's all so similar to "democRAT" v democratic"

Person "A" starts using democRAT to deliberately mis-name the democratic party/senator/congressperson/candidate..

He/she is called on it and says//.."oopise, oh my..no biggie, what's the difference, it's a slip of the tongue..no harm no foul..why so sensitive?".. It continues daily on every radio program, tv show, in print.

Before long, there truly IS no difference , and people get tired of being criticized for being so thin-skinned.. Some democrats even use it themselves, just to show what good sports they are, and to prove that it does not bother them..


It's very much like nicknames. If your name is William, and you call yourself William, and want others to call you William, you might let your Granny call you "Willie", but when a business opponent calls you Willie or Willie-Boy in front of subordinates , and continues to do so after you have told them not to, it's deliberate, and is an insult.

This whole birther crap is the same thing, only raised to a new level of contempt.

There is no way to "win" this because every attempt to "prove" them wrong, only comes with more demands and more skepticism, along with a smug satisfaction as they watch you jump through flaming hoops to prove that you are NOT what they say you are.

Refuse to play their game, and they (along with their massive media-network), proclaim that what was said about you must be true, or you would have refuted it. Refute it and they just refuse to believe you.

Today on MJ, Mika was indignant when Woodward said that the media was mostly at fault, but he is 100% right.. The STORY is that "some people" are so racist/bigoted/ignorant, that they will stoop to ANY level to de-legitimize this president. THAT is the story...not the cock & bull stories/theories/issues they bring to every microphone/camera they can reach.

The media were ENTHUSIASTIC participants in this whole thing.

I remember CNN boldly putting "IRAQ WAR" on their screens with dramatic music to go with it before there really was a war in Iraq. And now war is no longer an attention grabber so they have to court idiots to get a headline. All the while pretending they are reporting news when really they are making the news they want to report.
