18. I don't think that's a golf club... |
|
It looks more like a whip of some kind. You know...the kind they use when playing polo on horseback.
He's probably just got finished playing polo with his two buddies there. Back to the clubhouse for a few drinks and some serious flirting with the female of the species...
hahahahaha :+

I think they're playing on the stupidity of ads that try to make people believe that they'll become as chic/fashionable/thin/beautiful/manly/studly/etc. as the people in the ads IF ONLY they would use their product.
How many years have the admen been selling this shit line to us...
I think the people at Dos Equis are sort of making fun of that line of thinking...

|
what a man is. is his biology. cant help himself. all that he is.
the men buy it.
they have a fucked up life cause they buy this shit. and whine about their fucked up life.
i do not see it as amusing and fin anymore.
but
i say all this respectfully and with hug... cause

14. Many respected anthropologists |
|
have said that very thing.
It's in the nature of men to do what they do.
It's also in the nature of women to do what they do.
It's the way of the wild, after all, from which we're not that far removed. Male animals mate with as many females...young, fertile females...as possible. The urge to propagate is strong.
Females of some species will mate with the strongest male, usually. Some female primates, though, will mate with multiple partners. But usually they want a male who has "proven" himself through battle and dominance of his peers.
We're all just animals underneath our clothing...

unable to have brain power to work in business, go to college, belong in the kitchen. a mere four decades put that thinking in the trash. an amazing view of evolution in such a short time. truly amazing.

5. Has anyone seen any of the other commercials for Dos Equis? |
|
Satire.
I dunno. I'm a female and I'm not offended by this.
I would imagine that some women who describe themselves as "cougars" would probably be pretty amused by it.
Cougars. Wild animals.
But whatever...

nobody is being hurt in that commercial. Everybody is clothed.
And those women in the game park...were they forced to participate? I have no opinion on that except that if the women are fully informed, over the age of consent, etc., then it's their business.
Doesn't speak well of their self-respect, but if weren't that activity, it would be another just as humiliating and painful. Activities like that (where women participate willingly) don't exist unless there are women who consent to participate.
At the least, they need mental health counseling.

10. It's funny, this first thing I saw - |

was two African-appearing men and the phrase "wild animals" -- I thought that was tastless. And yes, dumb and eye-roll worthy as to women, as well.

"He is the most interesting man in the world." Intoned while he's chasing a cougar off his kitchen counter. It's a send-up of 70s macho excess with an actual participant.
Big deal.

|
It's brilliant!
Making fun of the macho guy who wouldn't dare own a cat by having a macho guy own a cat that probably weighs more than he does...
And chasing it off the counter while he's cooking!

Look, I'm a feminist, but I think the damn things are funny although this one must have been written by a different person--not so much funny as usual.
