Register Republican (for now...) Reverse Psychology ~ |
|
I was getting ready to sign a petition for my local Republican NOT to gut medicare - but like in the past, my voice is not heard because I am registered democratic.
I will be changing this and will switch parties (temporarily and ONLY on paper) so that my voice will more readily be heard and taken seriously.
Yeah, kind of drastic, I know - but given what we're up against....maybe not so drastic afterall, all things considered!!!!

3. It would be really hard. Some more or less not-well-known people just go to their |
|
Repub stuff, without actually registering as one. That would have limited effects for a limited amount of time, until they figure out what you're doing.

2. There are people in the Democratic party who say "'We' don't do that." |
|
1. It absolutely and most assuredly IS being done to us. 2. Is there somekind of good-ol' boy/girls' club that has to vet you and, IF you're one of them, crossover is okay???
#2. particularly intrigues me. Whose strategy/agenda would one mess up if one free-lanced without party permission?

4. I'm going to do that just before I die |
|
because I'd rather see a Republican die than a Democrat...

5. For years many of us in Iowa registered rethug because all the |
|
local offices were determined in the caucus. In the primary we did not get to vote because we did but in the general election we all voted Democratic. Sometimes you have to do some pretty strange things to survive.

6. Oh, sure, next time I register here in Texas, I'll register as GOP. |
|
But I'll only vote in Democratic primaries; and I will continue my practice of never voting for any Repuke.
And, oh yes, here in Texas there is no provision to register by party. ;-)

Briefly.
I just can't bring myself to do that. I'd feel all dirty and greasy and slimy and loathsome and disgusting and nauseous and... well you get the idea

8. I just can't understand why |
|
in my Red State - when it comes time to vote on ANYTHING....why there just isn't a "General Ballot" which lists ALL candidates of ALL parties?
Are there other states which have this?
I don't see why I have to tell the person when I am showing my voter's registration card and driver's license when I am getting ready to vote what party I belong to???
Then I have to choose one or the other. Are all states like this? I seem to remember that it wasn't always this way several years ago......
