Fox News ratings down, competing cable news up. People tired of lunatic fringe reporting. |
|
My question is: How come it took so many years? http://www.newscorpse.com/ncWP/

Democrats are also very actively promoting loud and clear the Neocons mistakes, stupidities and lies for everyone to hear and see. Point out all their contradictions, deceitful and underhanded ways of ripping off the public.

16. But Democrats are not doing that. |
|
Democrats are doing anything but taking advantage of the right wing and NeoCon mistakes and over-reaches.
Witness the "gang of six" for example. Instead of Democrats shouting from the rooftops that "Republicans want to cut your medicare.", they are saying, "Oh, we need to compromise on the budget."
Is there a single one of the gang of six that is not at least a millionaire? I hardly think so. So, Democrats suck, they just suck a little bit less. And I am fed the fuck up with it!

21. And another big thing: The Diebold Electronic Voting Machines |
|
Edited on Fri Apr-29-11 01:55 PM by Cal33
have been around for over 10 yers now, and they are still being used in many states. This means that in order for a Dem. presidential hopeful to win, s/he has to win by a BIG MARGIN. Either that or lose. A few percentage points difference will always be nullified by those machines!
Don't the Dems. care?
Too many of them don't seem to care too much. Maybe they need someone to fire up their enthusiasm the way Harry Truman used to do. Unfortunately, there aren't any Harry Trumans around to fire them up today.

23. One would have thought that |

their highest priority would be to get rid of those voting machines.
Democrats are behaving very suspiciously. They are behaving especially suspiciously in the face of outrage over attacks on unions and the social safety net. It is as if we are dealing with Republicans in Democrats clothing.

by the endless propaganda and lies of the Repubs. I'd hate to think how many gullible people there are, even among the well-educated ones.

4. Fox news ratings were always over-inflated. |
|
Fox news in the beginning would gave out free TV's to hospitals, etc., on the condition that their station was played continuously.

5. I am curious. What would happen if their ratings continued to slide? |
|
I mean, significantly. Painfully significant.
Would they pull back a bit, and at least try to appear not to be batshit crazy? Or would they amp it up, and go completely off the deep edge?

the money trail. It never fails. Murdoch is one of these. That's his modus operandi.

6. Old racists die off and often do not reproduce. But it's a slow process. |
|
Young people have no room for racism, thank God!
Young rich kids may have opinions on taxes or unions, but by the immense power of peer influence, even the children of the super rich 1 percentile wouldn't dare to say obviously racist remarks or jokes in public.
Rich or poor, young people want to be cool. Racism, Islam-o-phobia, misogyny, and class-ism are not cool.

Without them, FOX News wouldn't exist.
Also, let's be real, some of that lunatic fringe reporting has spilled into the "norm" more than it ever should have. The lunatic fringe people have choices of networks now.

13. Fox-like idiocy is now being spread around. |
|
Think about it. NPR is certainly not the liberal bastion Rethugs have claimed it is. PBS has several pure right wing programs. CNN isn't liberal by any stretch. MSNBC has plenty of corporatist and right wing content. The same can be said for NBC, ABC and CBS.
So we don't have to worry about the far right fringe getting their views heard.

18. Circulation and viewership for old school MSM print and TV declines steadily |
|
which is why valuations are so high for internet entities. Even old internet entities have to buy newer ones to stay in the game, eg. AOL bought HuffPo.
The average FNC viewer is 65. in primetime the average goes up to 68 years old. Look for FNC to try again to reach younger viewers bc their future depends on it. Eventually they will just have strippers pole dancing AND reading "news" copy. I'm only half kidding. That is the formula that seems to work. They want to make propaganda sexy. They are probably in talks with that 'Asians in the Library' bimbo right now to replace Beck.
"Competing cable news" is just as bad as Fox -- they are slicker about it. The #1 TV news source for most Americans is The TODAY Show which is like a cross between the HSN and Fox-lite.

As time goes on, more of them pass away, and their ratings decline.

20. I think Fox News' ratings dropped rapidly (within a few months), |
|
and in large numbers (double-digit percentages). The passing on of the old people goes at a more or less steady rate. It plays role, of course, but only a small one.
On the other hand, the elderly might be the ones who have stopped watching Fox in large numbers. When the Repubs. started attacking Medicare and Social Secure, even the old ones begin to realize that their livelihoods are being threatened.

I've done the best that I can to educate those around me, including ridiculing the things Fox reports and how it reports them.
Ridiculing Fox has worked the best, and it's so easy to do.
