I honestly do not know why every major news source is running 24 hour coverage.

Am I missing something?

It's a publicity stunt
to drum up support for HBO's new series 'Game of Thrones'.

17. It was once upon a time.
Martin boosted the basic narrative and characters from the War of the Roses. Queen Cersei is Mother Teresa compared to Margaret of Anjou.

36. No wedding should be without a pair of dwarfs jousting on pigs...
and maybe a poisoning or two :)

5. It IS news, not important news but I think we've all gotten used to not getting useful or even
important news anymore.

Also don't care about the wedding, good for him/her, 'royalty' is stupid, backward, and needs to wither and fade away.

I can imagine a programming meeting at, say, CNN, where everyone concurs that the hoi polloi just can't get enough of that shit.

16. i was going to post a very different OP
I wonder why so many are so hateful and angry toward the british monarchy and Prince William...

It's a wedding, supposed to be something joyful and full of promise...why are so many freaking out?
Sorry, but to me it's actually the first 'happy' occasion we have had in a few decades, and we need a dose of joy
besides, Prince William and Kate are very grounded, down to earth young folk who just might have something to say or do with the state of those less fortunate. He has a compassion unlike most royals and could be very good for the country. Ya, i know it's not OUR country...but it doesn't hurt to be positive...

21. But these are very important people
Because they all have royal blood and this is so very important. It means they are better than all the common people, and so their wedding is something extremely important.

Gosh, if you don't have appreciation for this royal wedding it means you are so cold hearted and crass, and are probably a horrible person! How can you not love the royals, they are better than you!

23. Where are the Jobs for those out of work and Healthcare for everyone?
Fuck this just for show, birth lotto "Prince" and his bride to be. They've got nothing better to do there than to celebrate the wedding of an Elite who could give two shits about their lives. Enough already, I will not tune in to a royal second of this waste of life, just for show, wealthy, pompous, wedding. The Queens outfit and matching hat alone could feed a family of four for a year.......disgusting. Where are the Jobs Boner? Cantor?...........anyone?

I remember the soap opera that was the marriage of the Royal Twit and the Royal Slutress.

No thanks.

Although I think it looks like a real love match instead of "find a young and totally incompatible brood mare".

40. Hey there! I've attempted pattern drafting and been successful.
Made me feel good. Made a witch's dress for Halloween. I found a book on pattern drafting in the family home I moved to.

Mom left me three good Singers.
I learaned on a Featherweight and have two Slant-O-Matic 401As. Made in the fifties and all steel. I call them "The Apotheosis of the Machine Age".
