All day I've been looking at video of the devastating storms that ripped thru the south last night
and I understand Pres. Obama will visit Alabama tomorrow.

Ironic, isn't it?

The part of the country most opposed to the president and the government now needs his help.

2. The governors who ran on anti-govt rhetoric will be begging
for the federal monies to hel them out. As they should, but the hypocrisy will be a horrible stench.

4. He's a good man
I might have stayed away and told them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

The storms were devastating - I think there are more deaths in Alabama than we're being told at this stage.

5. +1000 about it all. It will take time to sort out who is still alive and who can't be found.
It is a mess and will take time to figure it out. 3 cheers for President Obama for going to look and for helping so quickly.

6. I hate to admit that I thought the same thing, as if God was saying
"Ok, now I'm pissed off". I have family in Birmingham and looking at the destruction there's going to a whole lot of people who will need help to start all over again. I wouldn't wish that much mayhem on my very worst enemy - I wouldn't even know where to start.

10. No. It's not socialism when it's them; only when it's others.

7. He's the president of the United States, Alabama is still one of the states
Therefore his job is to bring every possible federal resource to bear on the problem.

Unlike his predecessor, he realizes his responsibilities and is living up to them.

Ironic it may be but this man is bigger than all that petty crap.

13. and that is another fact I find ironic
Edited on Thu Apr-28-11 08:17 PM by CatWoman
on edit I'd like to add that I live in Georgia and we have had several deaths here, too.

Indeed, tornadoes don't care about politics.

But I do find it ironic that the people who were hit hardest are the people who hate the govt. the hardest.
