Macy's response to my email on Trump.
I noticed Macy's on the list of Trump sponsors and so logged in to my online account to say I would no longer be a customer. Here's the message I received in return.

The Donald J. Trump Signature Collection has been offered at Macy's for many
years based on the response of our customers to the styling, quality and value
of the products. Our offering of merchandise is not a reflection of any
political viewpoint. In our merchandise assortment, we strive to meet our
customers' expectations for unique and interesting products across a diverse
range of styles, categories and brands. This allows our customers to choose what
they prefer.

Regards,
Corporate Communications
Macy’s, Inc.

Wow, that certainly makes it a lot less painful to give the heave-ho to a place where I've shopped for years.

4. I didn't save a copy.
The gist of it was that I had been a Macy's customer and hadn't been aware of the association with Trump, and that in light of his racist behavior, I wasn't going to shop at Macy's anymore.

9. Tell them that the KKK produces a clothing line, as well and that they should consider
carrying it because, clearly, their customers deserve quality stylish clothing from more than one racist.

12. I would frame it in effect that by promoting Trump, they tacitly
support or have no problem with Trump's race baiting. I would then tell them that perhaps their customers would like to know what they are supporting. Tell them you will be glad to let them know before entering their store.

2. Let them know you are displeased with their response ...
And intend to share their unsatisfactory response with everyone you know ...

I have also pointed out - If you read the polls, you will find that MOST Americans do NOT buy into this wasteful nonsense ...

We are their market .... We are the pool of buyers .... You want to embrace the unembracable ? ... fine, but you will lose my business, and the business of MOST Americans ...

6. I don't shop at Macy's because they destroyed Marshall Fields
but they do good work with the Serra Club and have given lots of money for environmentalism as well.

I will be avoiding Macy's all together now.

Bet you we won't see him in any commercials this Fall.

10. Allows customers to choose what they prefer?
Well, this customer chooses to shop elsewhere from now on. And, that IS a reflection of my political viewpoint when this pig tries to degrade our President and instead, proves himself the racist ass. This went way beyond "political viewpoint". Nice try Macy's but FAIL!

14. I never heard of the Trump Signature Collection!
I have to get out more. Maybe people will stop buying this line just because Trump is so disgusting. That would cause the chain to discontinue it, hopefully.

I don't shop at Macy's because their clothes are ugly, over-priced, and poorly constructed in third world countries.

16. Since my "attire" consists primarily of jeans, t shirts, and boots
I have managed to avoid Macy's and the "Trump Collection" so far, and I'm fairly confident that I will continue to be able to do so for the foreseeable future.

17. Isn't Macy's a rather high-end store?
Perhaps a large portion of their customer base has more in common with Trump than they do with the common person?

21. Highly unlikely!
Macy's is a department store in the traditional sense, a place where people buy undies and jeans and wallets and lipstick. It's not a discount chain but it does have frequent sales. To suggest that the customer base has much of anything in common with Trump is more than a bit of a stretch.

I think of Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus as high-end department stores, though frankly I don't stand at the doorways surveying clients on their income levels.
