Rachel does a great job (again) of explaining how the American People were awakened by "Republican radicalism" and the Democrats are not only blowing the chance to capitalize on this, they're doing themselves "lasting harm".

(on edit, don't miss the intereview with firefighter union president schaitburg (??) on why he's cutting off Dems in Washington because they have not supported working people)

2. This has been my feeling for quite some time now
I will no longer give one dime to Federal candidates and more than likely not my vote either.. I will continue to support local Democrats though and hope for a trickle up effect..Federally elected Democrats have become so terrified of Republicans they won't admit ever having to shit..

3. YES Firefighters! Way to go!
I hope our other Nationals take a clue from them.

4. Seems to be the reason.
At least the Firefighters have figured it out.

5. Democrats Are Afraid Of Their Own Shadows...
This party is paralyized...totally locked into the beltway spin and games to do more than nod in the direction of the growing discontent.

I see too many Congresscritters worried about getting bashed by the right wing hate machine or being framed as weak on (defense, economy, social issues) and either bury their head in the sand or go along with the status quo. They're afraid to piss off the lobbyists and big money (corporate) donors who make their job possible (sorry, the voters only matter AFTER the money is collected) and will let the GOTB run roughshod and hope they over-reach.

Sadly I can't remember the last election where Democrats won on their own strength...on the core issues. Almost every victory in recent years is because they're not as bad as the rushpublicans.

I don't see this changing any time soon. Rachel is right, the Democrats never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. They'll gain seats next year but once again running as "I'm not the rushpublican"...
