Good Morning Wedding viewers! I hope you enjoyed the wedding!

It is an awesome thing in America that you can watch a wedding, or a sporting event, or read a paper OR, if you don't like what is on, you can change the channel to one of the other 900 channels available in most viewing areas.

It is also awesome that you can watch the wedding without being ridiculed. Oh... well, sorry about that.

1. Idle minds with nothing better to talk about. So they spread negativity.
I didn't watch, but I don't mind if others did.

6. Me either, I pretty much hate weddings (i've been in 15)
and since I'm gay and can't have one in my home state (we have a domestic partnership) I have even less interest in other people's weddings. But...jeez. I think it is just fine that other people want to watch a wedding.

I sure wouldn't belittle them for it.

8. I can't even count the number of weddings I've participated in.
I used to play in a woodwind quintet, and we were the go-to wedding music group in my area for a few years. I made the seats of three tuxes shiny in that time.

I can't see any reason to whine about people doing whatever it is they want to do. Seems like a waste of time to me.

12. OMG...I shuddered reading that! You Poor Man!!!
So many weddings.... that would be HELL to me!!! It seems as people get older they weddings get worse too. one of the last one I was in was a 38 year old woman who had been to dozens and dozens of weddings and she wanted EVERY SINGLE THING she liked from every one of those weddings. She had a dozen bride's maids, two dance routines (during the service...seriously, there was a whole BALLET, on the side of the hill facing the sun on a 104 degree day..., she had four songs sang by live musicians, we were in full formal attire (black wool tuxedo, did i mention the 104 degrees?)

then there were three poems read, then one of the aunts fainted, and then we were done...it was a 90 minute wedding. I swore that would be the LAST time. (but i did get suckered into ushering but it was last minute cause they needed help)

3. I was hoping somebody would ask me that;) k*r
I had an incredibly busy day and found myself staying up much later than normal. CNN was on the television monitor but there was no sound. Low and behold, the wedding thing started. I glanced over at the preliminaries and went back to what I was doing. One thing led to the next and pretty soon the nuptials started. I didn't turn on the sound since I was listening to music but I paid attention for a few minutes. I was just appalled. The prince looked like he belonged on the top of a cake. The bride looked a little stern but maybe that's what the prince needs. Then the crowd shots ... that was really too much. Tottering aristocrats pretending to sing from that awful hymnal (heard 'em all), taking it so seriously...then PM Cameron, my Gawd!!! Then it hit me! I can just turn it off and go to bed, which is what I should have done an hour earlier. So if that's your thing, go for it. I'll stop now.

5. I have no interest in it, but certainly don't care if others enjoy it.
Why should I care? I doesn't affect my life...

I can see why people would get excited about it. How many times does one get the chance to experience a Royal Wedding?

A lot of people follow Hollywood stars and no one gives a rip. Life's too short not to enjoy what you enjoy.

11. I enjoyed it immensely, thank you.
My young daughter and I received royal "invitations" to attend the wedding and partake in a breakfast party at 5:30 this morning. We watched it with friends - some of them British, and they had a full spread of amazing, traditional English foods. The conversation swirled around the history of Westminster Abbey, the song "Jerusalem", Elton John, the Church of England and, of course, Diana.

As I was seated in my spot watching the regalia, I could not help but remember the joy and awe I experienced when I was young lady watching Diana's wedding 30 years ago; and I missed her today. The differences in the weddings are something I am still sorting through in my head -- i.e. the ENORMOUS dress and train vs. the thin dress and train; the 20 lb. bouquet vs the tiny simple bouquet, Nancy Reagan vs. huh?-why-didn't-they-invite-Michelle-Obama?

Events in the world require us to see things differently this time around. The dress and bouquet must be smaller, for reasons much greater than fashion. And as I travel through my day, I am surprised by how few people cared this time. EVERYONE watched Diana's. I have yet to find a soul, other than those invited with me to the celebration this morning, who watched. No one seems to be in the mood for a royal wedding right now.

It was an event. As was Diana's. I am thrilled I was able to attend with my daughter, but I was much more swept away by Diana's wedding. I suppose nothing could top that.

I had a GREAT time! LOVED it, LOVED it, LOVED it!!!! And I make absolutely NO apologies for it! I even wore a crazy hat, watching it on TV here in my own bedroom.

I loved everything about it: the pageantry, the bride, the groom, the noise, the crowds, the dress, the tiara, the uniforms, the queen, the VIPs, the carriages, the horses, the bands, the gossip, the fashions, the commentary, the bells, the confetti cannons, the fancy limousines with see-through backsides, the flags, the bunting, the tourists, the parades, the press, the long shots, the children's choir, the trumpets, the music, the Abbey, the balcony, the kiss, and the hats. Good God Almighty, the hats! OMG! UTTERLY DELICIOUS! And all the British accents. And one more thing that seems to have escaped notice or appreciation around here - HAPPY PEOPLE. You see crowd shots with just wall-to-wall happy people. Everybody's smiling. Everybody's cheering. Everybody's fluttering little flags and holding or wearing souvenirs. People were out there dancing and jumping around together and it's EVERYBODY. All ages. Every imaginable skin color. Every style of fashion, and even a lot of the "commoners" had crazy hats on. And periscopes!?! Just so many great hilarious wonderful stirring unforgettable and giggly moments. I'm watching the replay now on CNN and it's just an ocean of smiling cheering people walking toward Buckingham Palace to watch for "The Kiss". An ocean of smiling cheering people. Just hundreds of thousands of people all happy and celebrating and in great spirits. HOW LONG has it been since we've seen that?

Hey even you anti-royalists and grinches - at least come join the celebration, even if you're secretly celebrating something else. Isn't it nice that there's this much happiness on view for a change? Not some stupid overbloated, overpaid, artificially-important grunting sports thing. Not some election where only HALF the people are happy and celebrating and everybody else is glum and bummed out. Everybody's happy and in a festive mood. You have to be happy, at least, about THAT.

16. +1,000,000,000
Isn't it a sight to behold? and Kate looked so beautiful in her dress. And I loved the way Andrew couldn't turn around to look at her because he is supposed to be the last one in the room to set eyes on her. Do you know what a professional lip-reader said? He said Andrew told her she looked beautiful, and then he joked to her father "We were supposed to have just a small family affair." And apparently, the sun came out just as Kate stepped out of the car! And she did her own make-up! {{{Sigh}}}

I loved it.

18. Awwww... such a nice photo! Was that the first kiss or the second?
And I noticed when she joined him at (well, near) the altar, he looked at her and you could see his lips move when he told her "you look beautiful." So nice. She's a commoner. Her dress was simply lovely and SHE wore IT - it didn't wear her the way Diana's did. Just a lovely thing all around.

What I really enjoyed SO much was the ocean of happy faces, all the people out there crowded together, smiling and laughing and cheering and waving flags. I loved seeing that. Huge crowds of genuinely happy people. Such a lovely thing for everyone to see and enjoy and share, especially after all the Just Absolutely Shitty news we've all had to deal with. We as Dems, we as Americans, and we as citizens of Planet Earth. And today we all got a nice little vacation from all the sorrow, anger, deceit, and disaster. We ALL got a break. Anyone who wants to go Scrooge on that - they're on their own.

17. No 900 channels for me. I have broadcast TV.
That means I only get 13 channels on one TV, and 16 on the one in my bedroom, since it is in a spot where it can pick up the PBS signals from the neighboring state. And, since the wind was blowing, the trees were messing up the reception for PBS, the local Fox affiliate and THIS TV. That means I had a choice of The Wedding on ABC, The Wedding on CBS, The Wedding on NBC, the bullshit show that tries to pass off as the morning news on CW, some country music video channel, and two channels of infomercials. I can see it being on one of the major networks, but was it really necessary to have it on all three? Some of us would like to know what went on overnight in our hometowns. Can't have that when every fucking channel that shows local news is covering a wedding in a foreign country.
