Endeavour STS 134 - launch planned this afternoon

Endeavour's last scheduled flight is planned to lift off at 3:47pm Eastern today.

Personal comment: these guys (and all the astronauts) are true role models to me; it's a shame to me that our country is more obsessed with American Idol, Dancing with the "stars" and wedding in another country, than the true boundary-pushing exploration, science and engineering that are part of each manned space mission.

After this flight, there's one more scheduled flight left before the orbiters become museum pieces and we (the U.S.A.) go into a "flight gap" of unknown duration - where our only access to the space station will be through the Russians.

I'm envious of them - I've always wanted to see a launch in person, but not sure when that will happen... I hope the launch is uneventful and your brother's family has a safe and fun time watching the launch - and I hope this is a very inspirational moment for your neices/nephews too.

My reason for saying it is not about the wedding in England, they should have a pleasant day, and I don't think they think in superiority by blood lines, I think they get trapped by those that report those things.
