I hate "The Royals".

Do I hate them on a person to person basis? No, I've never met them personally. However, I reserve the right to hate the mere idea of a Royal. Why? They represent a system by which birth guarantees privilege. The British Royals are the largest landowners in Britain. Why? Because they were born into royalty. They didn't earn it, their parents didn't earn it, their grandparents didn't earn it. They were simply born into families which were deemed to have the right to rule over others simply because they descend from warmongers who severely oppressed everyone else and lived off the productions of others like armed leeches.

2. I hate our "Royals" more.

We have the same system in the US, on a lot larger scale and with a lot more actual power to destroy and hurt than the British royals have.. At least in the UK it's become little more than symbolic and is just one family.

Here, it's on a much larger scale and it has nothing to do with tradition or history or nobility or anything other than "Rich people were born into rich families and they should stay rich no matter what they do or how evil or incompetent they are.

like Tiger Woods, Venus Williams, Lindsey Lohan, Tom Brady, Brittney Spears, Ben Affleck, etc. were not born into rich families, but they are rich and famous now, just like Jared Fogle, and that's what's important.

Many cultural and social traditions are borne, live out their usefulness, and eventually are relegated to history. Although I realize some benign traditions are not disposed of quickly enough for many people, history does its job with our without out loves, hates, and other biases.

I imagine in five hundred years, masses will be telling each other how much they loved or hated some benign tradition we ourselves utilize everyday without ever being aware of it.
